Clinical Outcomes Above National & Local Standards
2016 Outcomes for the Poverello Center, Inc. are impressive. While we didn’t do the research to say why people who received our Eat Well Center services did better than the average person receiving HIV care in the nation or in Broward County, our participants did better.
2016 Treatment Cascade Comparison
Nationwide, only 30% of people diagnosed with HIV achieve viral suppression, the goal of HIV treatment. Recently, CDC and others have declared that when there’s viral suppression, there’s no risk of passing the virus to someone else.
Broward County, Ryan White Part A care system achieved impressive results for their 2016-2017 contract year. 81.4% of program participants achieved viral suppression system wide.
But the great news is, our program achieved viral suppression in 86% of our program participants. This means that participants of the Ryan White Part A program who receive food pantry services, do better with their viral suppression than the average part a participant!
