The Poverello Center Bowl-A-Thon High Five Raffle
– Official Rules
Thank you for your interest in The Poverello Center Bowl-A-Thon
Raffle. By entering this raffle, you are stating that you have read
the raffle rules, understand and agree to the rules. If you have any

- Entrant must be 18 years of age or older.
- Winner need not be present to win.
- Drawing will take place August 16th 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
- All completed entries (with payment) must be received by August
16th 2008 at
7:59 p.m. to qualify for drawing.
- Prize will be accepted by the winner at The Poverello Center.
- Winner must have photo identification when claiming the prize.
- The winner is responsible for costs associated with the
acquisition and award of
the prize if applicable.
- If the winner does not want to accept the prize, there will be
no exchange for
cash or other goods.
- This raffle style sweepstakes is being conducted by The
Poverello Center and is subject
to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Odds of
winning depend on number of entries purchased. Each ticket purchased
will be entered separately in the drawing. Each ticket is a separate
but equal chance to win the listed prizes.
- Winner will be notified by phone and in writing how to claim the
prize. Prize must be claimed by winner within 30 days of the
drawing. If winner does not claim their prize within 30 days, the
prize or equivalent cash value will be donated to The Poverello
Center. In the event of a winning entry having more than one name,
the prize will be awarded to the first name listed on the entry
ticket.
- Directors, board members, officers and employees of The
Poverello Center are not eligible, including such persons immediate
family members (spouse, parent, siblings and children).

Winner is subject to all applicable raffle procedures, restrictions,
rules, directives, state and local laws and regulations and is solely
responsible for all federal, state and local taxes, fees, assessments,
charges, license, title registration, fees, and assessments associated
with the prize. The IRS requires that corresponding taxes on prize
values of $5,000 or greater must be paid upon award, and before the
prize distribution. The Poverello Center and its agents, Board,
vendors, volunteers and members (collectively referred to as “Agents”)
assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated,
incomplete, illegible, undeliverable entries or entries without proper
payment received which entries shall be deemed invalid and shall be
immediately disqualified. The Poverello Center and its agents make no
claim regarding the actual value of the prize and do not take any
responsibility for the accuracy of any estimates.
It is agreed by the winner as a condition of winning the prize that
in no case shall The Poverello Center be liable for any claims,
liabilities or costs of any kind, nature or character resulting from
acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, and that The Poverello
Center and its Agents have not made any representations, warranty or
guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any
prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition
or fitness. In the case of any dispute, The Poverello Centers decision
shall be final. The IRS has taken a position that amounts paid for
chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings do
not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution. Check with your
financial advisor for additional information.
