Food Pantry
Getting started with Poverello's food pantry is simple. Here's exactly what to expect, in three steps.
If you're living with HIV, you'll first need to be approved through the Ryan White Central Intake & Eligibility Department (CIED). If you have another chronic condition like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or kidney disease, you can contact our Intake Coordinator directly to get started.
Once you're eligible, you'll meet with our Intake Coordinator. This is a short, friendly visit where we explain how the pantry works, have you sign a confidentiality agreement, and set up your client file.
You'll receive a personal food pantry number. From then on, you can shop in person during pantry hours or order online for pickup. Your eligibility stays active for 6 months, and we'll help you recertify when it's time.
Poverello offers several food and nutrition programs, and the forms you need depend on the type of assistance you are applying for.
Visit our Forms page to find the correct application and complete the required forms for:
• Ryan White Part A Nutrition Services
• Critically Ill Nutrition Program
• Emergency Food Program
Each section walks you through the forms in the order they should be completed.
Not living with a chronic illness? If you need food because of a job loss, a drop in income, or another emergency, our Emergency Food Program may be the right place to start — no diagnosis required.
See the Emergency Food ProgramYou don't need to use the online form. Call us at (954) 561-3663 during pantry hours and our staff will walk you through getting started.
