Serving Miami-Dade, Broward & Palm Beach

Every visit, clients shop our pantry like a grocery store, filling a cart with their own selections based on a monthly point allotment. Choices span the full range of a healthy kitchen: fresh seafood from salmon to shellfish, all types of protein for different diets, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, spices, and pantry staples, all curated by our licensed nutritionist to support conditions like HIV, diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease. Larger items like a whole chicken might cost more points, while smaller staples cost less, giving clients real choice over how to build out their kitchen each month.

Can't make it to one of our pantry locations? Through our partnership with DoorDash, eligible clients in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties can receive free grocery delivery right to their door.
How it works:
Place your order through the blue "Order Food" button below.
We'll call you at the phone number on file to coordinate a delivery time.
Our volunteer drivers will call when they're close and deliver right to your doorstep, so please be home for your scheduled window.
For clients coordinating through a doctor's office, DoorDash drivers can meet you there directly, so you can either pick up your groceries on-site or have them delivered straight to your home.
Ask your Intake Coordinator whether DoorDash delivery is available for your address.
We're also excited to be bringing mobile pop-up food distributions to communities across South Florida soon. Stay tuned for upcoming dates and locations.
Poverello events, mobile food and testing pop-ups, and thrift store sales are all listed below. Use the filters to narrow the list — some listings happen on a single date, others repeat week to week.

Food Is Medicine starts with a simple truth: health doesn't happen in a doctor's office alone. Social determinants of health, things like access to nutritious food, stable housing, and transportation, shape outcomes as much as medical care does. For people living with HIV, diabetes, cancer, or other chronic conditions, the right groceries aren't just a meal, they're part of staying healthy and on track with treatment.
Since 1987, The Poverello Center has delivered the equivalent of more than 2 million weeks of nutritious food to our South Florida neighbors living with chronic illness. No one should have to choose between eating and living.
That's the idea behind Food Is Medicine: nutrition isn't separate from healthcare, it's a core part of it.
