Getting tested at Poverello is simple and private.
Walk in during regular business hours. No appointment needed.
A staff member will take you to a private space and walk you through the process.
We use a rapid test that checks a small blood sample. Most results are ready in about 20 minutes.
While you wait, you can ask questions. Our staff is trained to talk openly about HIV, PrEP, and PEP.
If your result is negative, we'll talk about ways to stay negative, including PrEP if that's something you're interested in.
If your result is positive, we'll connect you with high-quality HIV care right away and help you get linked to the services you need. You will not be alone in this.
If you've had a possible exposure in the last 72 hours, tell our staff right away. There's a medication called PEP that can help prevent HIV infection, but it only works if started quickly.
Walk-in testing is currently available at the Wilton Manors location only. Outside of walk-in hours, testing is available by appointment.
